Ad Design Tools

The toolbar on the left side of the ad design page provides various tools to help you create and customize your ads.

Here are the details of each tool:

Details

This section covers core information about your ad.

  • Size: Select the size of your ad from the dropdown. This is a mandatory field.
  • Layout: Choose the layout type (template) that will serve as the foundation of your ad. For more information, see the Ad Templates section. This is a mandatory field.
  • Description: This field identifies your ad within the MediaKoi platform and is also part of the UTM tags automatically created by the system for external links. This is a mandatory field.
  • Reference ID: An optional field where you can add any internal ID you use to track your ads. This ID is also included in the UTM tags generated by the system for external links.
  • Ad Server/DSP: Sets the DSP for this specific ad. If you've already set this at the campaign level, the information will be inherited from there. For more details, refer to the Selecting an Ad Server/DSP for Your Campaign section. This is a mandatory field.

Style Guide

Define various visual aspects of your ad, such as fonts and colors. For more details, see the Style Guide section

Menu

An optional feature that allows you to display a menu function within your ads.

  • Menu Type: Select the type of menu and its behavior.
  • Background: Set the background color for the menu using the color picker or by typing in a hex value. You can also adjust the alpha channel for transparency, allowing your ad's background to remain visible.
  • Gallery: Determines whether the Image Gallery option will appear in the menu.
  • Gallery Description: Controls whether image descriptions appear over the gallery images. Note that the text color is taken from your defined text Style Guide.
  • Gallery Navigation: Set the color for the navigation arrows within the gallery using the color picker or a hex value. You can also adjust the alpha channel for transparency.

Plugin

The MediaKoi platform is developing integrations with third-party tools, services, and components to extend ad functionality. While this section is still in development, please contact us if you require a custom feature for your ads. This is an optional feature.

Location Search

Define the location search function within your ad. The tool name and its functionality are specific to your business vertical. This is an optional feature.

  • Locations: Available for most business verticals, this tool allows consumers to search for physical or digital locations, or events occurring at a location. For more details, see the Locations Tool section.
  • Showtimes: Specific to entertainment clients, this tool enables consumers to search for nearby theaters and showtimes. For more details, see the Showtimes Tool section.

Video

Define the button(s) used to play the video uploaded for the Campaign. This is an optional feature.

  • Button type:
    • Button: A system-generated button.
    • Overlay: A button that is part of the background image.
  • Placement (State 1): Set the size and position of the button by defining its top-left and bottom-right corners using X,Y coordinates (tlX, tlY, brX, brY).
  • Placement (State 2): Set a secondary position for the video button, which appears after a search has been performed. This is also defined by mapping the top-left and bottom-right corners.
  • Text/Tooltip: For a system-generated button, this sets the text that appears on the button. Regardless of the button type, this text also serves as the tooltip on mouseover.

Buttons

Define buttons that link to any external URL.

  • Button type:
    • Button: A system-generated button.
    • Overlay: A button that is part of the background image.
  • Placement (State 1): Set the size and position of the button by defining its top-left and bottom-right corners using X,Y coordinates (tlX, tlY, brX, brY).
  • Placement (State 2): Set a secondary position for the button, which appears after a search has been performed. This is also defined by mapping the top-left and bottom-right corners.
  • Destination URL: Defines the URL where the button should direct the user.
  • Text/Tooltip: For a system-generated button, this sets the text that appears on the button. Regardless of the button type, this text also serves as the tooltip on mouseover.

Background

Define the background of your ad. You can include multiple backgrounds, whether the ad swaps backgrounds on interaction (Image -> Secondary Image) or layers files (Image over Video). For more details about the various options, refer to the Background Design Tools section


As you make updates using the various tools, the system will automatically refresh the ad preview and save each change to the ad.
