Ad Templates and States

Regular

This is the default layout option. Background images/videos cover the full background of the ad and remain unchanged throughout.

Split

This option splits the background vertically in half when the consumer interacts. When the split occurs, the left side of ad will display a new background image (Background > Secondary Background) while the right half will display a color background (Style Guide > Secondary Background).

Pre-interaction (State 1)
Post-interaction (State 2)

States

The states of an ad refer to different modes in which the UI can exist based on user interaction. States allow an ad to transition to different layouts as the user engages. All ad templates support the concept of states. Whether a state is visible depends on the engagement with the ad.

  • State 1 (Load): This is the default view of the ad when it loads, or when the user is interacting with it and selects to return to this view.
  • State 2 (Engagement): This is the alternate view of the ad when a user interacts and selects to view certain information (e.g., About, Location Search, etc.), causing the layout of the ad to change.

The transition between states can be temporary or permanent, depending on the action taken within the ad. For example, when a consumer views About (via the menu) in an ad (State 2), they can return to the Load view (State 1). But other functionality such as location search, locks the ad in State 2.
