Create a Site

To begin building sites, select Website from Media Type when creating your campaign.  To activate publishing or discuss pricing, please contact us at sales@mediakoi.com.

Creating a Site in MediaKoi is the first step in building a dedicated web destination for your film or product. When building your site, the system uses information from several areas of a campaign. The exact fields and how they are used will vary from template to template.

  • Detail: Define the style guide for your site.
  • About: Enter the Feed ID used by the system for location searches, as well as your synopsis and sharing (social media) information.
  • Image Gallery: Upload the images for your image gallery.
  • Site: Select your build template, enter SEO information and upload images.

To begin editing your site, click on the Site tab.

The Site tab is broken into several sections.

Definitions

This section defines the information about your site:

  • Template: Defines the layout for the published site.
  • Page Title: Used as the title of the website that appears in the browser tab, SEO,  and display in search results. This should not exceed 60 characters as it may be truncated in search results.
  • Meta Definition: Used for SEO and display in search results. This should not exceed 155 characters as it may be truncated in search results.
  • Site URL: Enter the intended URL for the site (e.g., https://www.mediakoi.com).
  • Google Tag: Enter your Google Tag Manager ID to link the site to your Google Analytics.
  • Base Font: In order to accommodate differences between fonts, this allows you to change the overall size of a font for the site.
  • Showtimes Start Date: The date and time (based on your time zone) that the system should automatically publish your site with the showtimes function and button activated.  If this is blank, the showtimes function is enabled by default.
  • Showtimes End Date: The date and time (based on your time zone) that the system should automatically publish your site with the showtimes function and button de-activated.  If this is blank, the showtimes function remains enabled.
  • Display Showtimes Buttons: For sites where a consumer can find where a film is playing near them, this setting allows you to turn off the showtimes buttons.

Images & Video

This section is where you upload your images.

  • Overlay: An optional image that overlays the Background Image. This image will be centered horizontally and vertically.  We recommend this be uploaded as a PNG file.
  • Background Image: The hero image for the site. We recommend this file to be a 1920x1080px JPEG image.
  • One Sheet: Appears next to the synopsis, as well as on the ticketing page of the 2-page template.  We recommend this file to be a 1000px high JPEG image.
  • Mobile Ticketing Background: Appears on the ticketing page of the 2-page template for mobile devices. We recommend this file to be a landscape JPEG image, no wider than 1000px.
  • Rating Block: This optional field is for the films rating.
  • Share Image: This image (often called an OG Image or Social Preview Image) is the "billboard" for your website in the social world. We recommend this file to be a 1200x630px PNG or JPEG image.
  • Favicon:  This is your "ID badge" for the user's browser. It is the tiny icon that identifies your website in browser tabs, bookmarks, and search result pages. We recommend this file to be a 32x32px PNG or ICO image.
  • Apple Touch Icon: This is the high-resolution equivalent of a favicon, specifically designed for Apple devices (iPhone, iPad, and Mac). We recommend this file to be a 180x180px PNG image with no transparency.

This section defines the footer for the site.

  • Copyright: Copyright details. Note that you must enter the © symbol in your text as the system does not automatically append.
  • Distributor Logo: Optional company logo.  We recommend this PNG or JPEG image to be no higher than 50px.
  • Privacy Policy: PDF file containing your privacy policy.

Additional field may be available based on your template selection.
