Managing Your Campaign's Locations
The Locations area of your campaign lets you add and manage physical or digital locations that will appear in your ads. To get started, click the Locations tab.
When the Locations tab loads, it will default to edit mode if you haven't added any locations yet. If you have existing locations, click the pencil icon at the top to switch into edit mode.
Now you can make changes to your campaign's locations. To add a new one, click the green "Add Location" button at the top of the page. Each click will add another location entry.
Here's a breakdown of the fields:
- Ad Display: Define how your locations will appear in your ads.
- Grid: Displays results in a grid. The number of columns adjusts to your ad size and is designed for linkable icons. Each column is 140px wide, with content horizontally and vertically centered.
- List: Displays results in a list, separated by a horizontal line. This is ideal for text or text-plus-icon results, with content horizontally centered within the ad.
- Date: Set this for an event that occurs on a specific date.
- Name: The name of a physical or virtual location, an event, or similar.
Image: Accepts JPG, PNG, or GIF files. We recommend sizing these images down to 140px to 200px wide for best display.
Description: This field can hold various information, like an address, phone number, or event details. It supports a few HTML tags for custom formatting:
- <br> : For a line break
- <strong> : For bold text (preferred over <b> )
- <b> : Also for bold text
- URL: Defines where the text should direct the user when clicked.
- Delete: Removes the location entry from your list.
Once you've finished your changes, click "Save."
Location Sort Order
Locations are sorted and displayed in your ad based on the following hierarchy:
- Date: Locations with a specific date will appear first. Once that date has passed, the location will no longer display in the ad.
- Name: For locations that either share the same date or have no date specified.
- Order entered: For locations where neither a date nor a name is present.
